Hale

About

Ambitious plans demand an experienced team that is dedicated to realising your vision. We are specialists in complex, high-quality construction projects, offering service and results that meet the expectations of the most discerning clients. We work together with leading architects and designers, throughout London and the southern counties.

How We Work

The quality of our finished projects is testament to our focus on each element of the building process. From cost management and procurement, through to programming, site management and the robust construction details we employ for maximum longevity, a culture of care runs through all we do.

Meticulous organisation and proactive communication are central to the way we work, as are the latest technology and software, which we integrate throughout our operations.

We know it’s about more than the results – the journey has to be right also. For us, every project is a collaboration with you and your design team, who share our goal of delivering an exemplary finished building. We make personal service a priority throughout, from day one through to final delivery and beyond.

Our years of working this way are reflected in the long-standing relationships we enjoy with both clients and architects today.

The Team

We’ve built a team and a select list of partners we can trust to deliver the success of your project, and our business. They’re people who take pride in every step – before, during and after the project.

We are committed to the continuous development of our team. By identifying individual needs and investing in training, we make sure everyone adds to their skillset, and grows professionally as a leader in their field.

Accreditations

We are proud of the following accreditations, which reflect our standing as a progressive and sustainable fine building company.

The Chartered Institute of Building

Hale is a Chartered Building Company. The internationally recognised charter acknowledges our professional development, rigorous processes, ethical practice and unrelenting standards. As part of this exclusive group, we garner support and inspiration from fellow members and can contribute to positive change across the industry.

Federation of Master Builders

As a member of the Federation of Master Builders, Hale is recognised as a quality construction company that actively enhances opportunities and champions the best for our industry and customers.

Safe Contractor

To ensure Hale stays up to date with health and safety practice and policy, we are a Safe Contractor. The Alcumus Safe Contractor Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSIP) and PAS91 contractor accreditation scheme ensures we meet the requirements around health and safety, equal opportunities, diversity, operational quality, and environmental management practices.

Carbon Neutral

As part of our commitment to achieving the net zero target across construction by 2050, and being a more sustainable builder, we are a carbon neutral company. We advise our clients and choose low-carbon sustainable alternatives where we can and run our business as sustainably as possible.

Social Responsibility

We recognise the need for everyone to consider their carbon footprint. We have achieved carbon neutral certification with our own offices, and are able to assess the footprint of the projects we work on.

As a business working with high-quality properties,  we feel it’s important to remember those less fortunate. This is why we make an annual donation to St Mungo’s homeless charity, to help those without a building to call their home.

Our Team

Christian Hale

Director

Christian oversees all of our operations – checking, questioning and improving so that every detail is set up for success.

At the start of a project, he works closely with architects and designers to fine-tune plans, taking early opportunities to reduce complexity and solve technical challenges. As work progresses he turns his eye to quality control, to guarantee that the highest standards of construction and service are maintained.

Christian is a Chartered Construction Manager and member of The Chartered Institute of Building. Becoming chartered is a fitting tribute to his experience, passion, leadership and commitment to professionalism across all aspects of construction.

Before founding Hale, Christian worked for a boutique residential developer in Knightsbridge and a high-end Chelsea-based designer and contractor.

Christian Pond

Contract Manager

Christian oversees a project from the first briefing through to completion and handover. He manages the construction programme and acts as the primary contact for client, architect and site manager throughout.

Christian lives in the detail of the entire design process: working with architects and designers, interpreting the brief, translating it into design, and anticipating any issues before they arise.

During his 20-year career, Christian has performed a number of construction, design and management roles, and founded and run his own property company.

Jos Gibson

Contracts Manager

Jos oversees Hale’s projects, working alongside the architect, project team and site team, including sub-contractors and specialists, to manage the entire build process.

Personable and thorough, with proven problem-solving ability, Jos ensures the smooth and successful delivery of each project.

With a degree in Architecture, Jos is able to bring his design and technical skills to the table, as well as his prior experience working for a London-based development management company where he oversaw projects from concept to handover. With 7 years’ experience in the industry, Jos has worked across a range of projects that includes listed buildings, refurbishments and new builds.

Bryan Kirkham

Quantity Surveyor

Bryan manages the commercial aspects of projects, including tendering, procurement, cash flow forecasting, and commercial reporting.

As a people person he enjoys working as part of a team to bring clients’ dreams to life. Commercially astute, he is able to use his experience, his head for numbers, and his talent for deal-making to achieve the most with any budget.

Bryan has 18 years construction industry experience under his belt, working on both residential and commercial projects: from home extensions to £25m buildings at London’s O2 arena.

Maxine Allen

Accounts Manager

Maxine oversees our accounts, taking care of all day-to-day financial tasks such as paying sub-contractors, arranging supplies and tracking sales expenses.

Friendly and approachable, she enjoys getting to know the whole team on a project, including clients, suppliers and sub-contractors.

Maxine began her career as an office junior with a family-run glass merchants, before later moving into construction, the industry she now considers home.

Claire Jenkins

Buyer

Claire is responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials for Hale’s portfolio of fine building projects. She collates the right information to be sent to suppliers to enable correct quotations and deliveries, and inputs into Hale’s Information Release Schedules to ensure accuracy of delivery.

Her role demands attention to detail as well as good communication and negotiation skills.
She enjoys building relationships with suppliers and working collaboratively with the Hale team to provide them with the detailed information they need.
